Hey, good to read about your progress. Sent a couple e-mails to both your e-mail addresses and they came back. They must not have liked my cornfest 09 pictures. Froze 960 ears with Cole Moulton. To much work. Trina's cousins are "Olatha corn kings" We got the $2.00 a box cousin discount, came out to under 5 cents an ear except for our labor and mileage made it 70 cents an ear. Something is wrong with this picture. Take care. Kirk

Hey Rusty....Nice writing!!! Sounds a little familiar (tounge in cheek)...Hey, as long as we can get the message out!!! I'm proud of you. I'll listen to the interview. I'm working hard on my manuscript. Would you like to come over to Aspen one day and try the Alter-G weightless treadmill? I think you'll love it. Maybe we could then entice some company or gym to get one in Grand Junction for you to use.

Sending love and big hugs to you and Kathy. xoxo You're my hero!

Good coverage and a concise summary of all that has transpired. I hope your message brings hope to all. Your story and those of others need the national spotlight -- more is better -- people need to know these treatments are successful. Rusty, you and Kathy are an inspiraion to all.
Love always,
Mom

Dad,

I am very proud of you. You have always done a great job of taking care of all of us--paralyzed or not.

So, did they actually fix your leg brace or did they "fix" your leg brace.

And I was thinking that you could buy leather bottom shoes or some sort of custom shoe so that you could either affix some different traction with more surface area of just have someone build different soles for you for you can walk around duct tape-free. There are custom shoe makers in GJ still . . .

Dad,

I just listened to The Story--it was great. I am really proud of you. I love thinking about people who do not know you reading your blog and all of its unabashed puns.

Be careful walking on those sidewalks.

Lots of love, can't wait to see you in less than three months!!

Love

Wild Bill,
Let us know when you move in and we will come see you. I don't know about walking through the door, steps are extremely hard, if not impossible right now. I definetly need more control to accomplish them, but am willing to try anything. Thanks for the support.
Rusty

Susie,
You have been a wondeful cheerleader from the get go. Thank you for caring.

Can't wait to hear about the new braces - I am sure they will help a lot. It sounds like you are beginning to settle in for the long haul of recuperation and therapy - it will be a long road, but it gives you something to work toward and any improvement is a step in the right direction. Love ya!

Rusty, This is one of the most exciting blogs you have posted. It made me realize just how much most of us take for granted everyday. All of the things we do without even thinking about it. One of the most incredible things I see you doing is staying SO positive! That is truly a huge part of the battle. If anyone with a new injury reads this they can only be encouraged by it. Keep up the good fight and remember Jim & I keep praying for you EVERYDAY! Ending this reply with yours, "Keep the faith!" Marge

It's always interesting for me to hear about your therapy. You're in "good hands" with both Bruce and Jesse. I think you'll find it easier to stand erect with the new braces, less energy comsumption on your part. I haven't forgotten the celebratory egg rolls! Spring has been so busy working for people taking vacation and then our own trip. I also had to take over coordination duties of a group at church since the director left, but that will be finished the end of April. So I'll call you & Kathy!
